MINTY GREEN BANANA SMOOTHIE (raw-vegan)
Green smoothies are a great way to get fruits and veggies in with little effort. I prefer the SMOOTHIE over JUICE because I do like to retain the fiber from the ingredients I am using to get the biggest impact. The only thing with using a blender for this process is the basic order you should blend in for ease of the process. I hope you like my MINTY GREEN BANANA SMOOTHIE and try it soon, you will be surprised how yummy green can taste! NOTE: this recipe uses my GREEN SMOOTHIE BASE RECIPE,(the ingredients are listed below) notice that I used slightly more water in this recipe because bananas make the smoothie really thick.
MAKE 1 SERVING
1/2 fresh organic lemon, do NOT peel, cut in half
1/2 whole organic cucumber, do NOT peel, cut in quarters
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup fresh organic mint leaves, rough chopped
1 inch piece of fresh organic ginger root, do NOT peel, cut in half
1/2 cup fresh organic curly parsley leaves and stems
1 cup organic tuscan kale (or favorite kind ) stems and leaves rough chopped
2 small (or one large) ripe organic bananas, quarter
In your blender on high, blend the lemon, cucumber and water for 2 minutes. Add the mint, ginger and parsley, blend on high for 1 minute. Add your kale 1/4 cup at a time, blend on high until smooth, repeat until all of the kale has been added. Now add the banana and blend on high for 2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Pour into your serving glass and enjoy NOW! :) —–if you prefer it to be a little thinner just add small amounts of water and continue to blend until desired consistency is achieved.
