STRAWBERRY BANANA APPLE SMOOTHIE (raw-vegan)
OOOOOOHH STRAWBERRIES, how I love you! Strawberries are on the top 10 of my list of favorite fruits. I like them anyway that I can get them. When I saw the big box of ripe, plump organic strawberries at the store the other day, I squealed with glee. The dreams of how many ways I was going to enjoy them over came me. One of the ways I thought of was a rustic and simple STRAWBERRY BANANA APPLE SMOOTHIE. Yes this smoothie is as simple as it sounds. It contains strawberries, a banana, an apple and some water, that is it. Don’t let the simplicity of the recipe fool you; it is bursting with flavor and smoothness. It is hard to believe that something that tastes this good also be healthy for you. So next time you are at the store or farmers market, grab a box of strawberries and hurry home– you have a date with the blender. CHEERS to our HEALTH!!
2 cups fresh ripe organic strawberries, wash well and remove stem and leaves, quarter
1 organic pink lady apple, do NOT peel, cut into medium chunks
1 cup cold water
1 ripe organic banana, peel and quarter
extra ripe strawberries for garnish
In your blender, blend the strawberries and apple chunks with the water until smooth. Now add the banana and blend on high until smooth and creamy. Pour into your serving glass and garnish with an extra strawberry. NOTE: this is a great idea for Sunday brunch too, you can blend the strawberries and apple with the water, put in the refrigerator in a covered glass container(up to 2 hours). When you are ready to serve, just blend with the banana and serve. ENJOY!
